A Carriage full of Kittens!

Blog author:
Anne Zabolio

Lisa and Fiona Siciliani were sidelined along a ditch when they discovered a litter of seven (!) mewling kittens and their starved-but-friendly mother. They gamely took up the mom and kittens, naming the mom Millie and the kittens after Ewoks!

Two Kittens are Not Twice as Much Fun

Kittens, we have so many great kittens!

And what is more fun than a kitten? Two kittens! You might think that two kittens would be twice as much fun, but that is not true at all. Two kittens are a full order of magnitude more fun, yes, 10 times as much fun as one kitten. They play together, sleep together, keep each other company while you are away, and keep you entertained when you are home.

Boat Kitten Update

All of the "boat cats" have now been adopted!

In August 2006, workers at a boat dealership in Austin discovered a litter of seven tiny tabbies, aboard a boat that had been delivered from Houston. We imagine the mother cat was away hunting, or was startled, when the boat was hauled away. One of our volunteers brought them to Thundering Paws, and most of the kittens were in foster care before being adopted.

Big Tail, Little Tail, Curly Tail

Our newest kitties available for adoption: three kittens, about four months old, each with a different tail. There was obviously some Manx in the mix for this litter, plus a little bit of Siamese. These kittens all came from a family of abandoned cats southwest of Austin. They are spayed and neutered, have their first set of shots, and are ready for new homes.

Inside the Box

There's nothing like a nice snug box to make a kitty feel secure. At Thundering Paws, we have plenty of boxes, carriers, beds, and even some open cages for cats to rest in. Edward is fond of this special pyramid-shaped box. Is he grooving to the supernatural resonance of pyramid power? Probably not, he's just naturally a very happy cat -- but it does make a good spot for a nap.

Library Kittens

Library kittens having a snackA family of young cats and kittens were making their home around the Pleasant Hill Library. Thanks to one of our volunteers, they have (all but one so far) been trapped and spayed or neutered. They were thought to be feral cats, but once they came into our hands it became immediately apparent that they are not at all feral, just nice cats who need good homes.

Life is No Longer Rocky

Blog author:
Anne Zabolio

Rocky, who didn't have a name at the time, was a stray cat living in a field in Round Rock. A kind woman named Angie fed him and one time took a tick off his eye area when he presented it to her. He showed absolutely no aggression, either when she peeled the tick off of him, or at any other time.
